Needle Felted Cards

Needle Felted Greeting Cards

Creating greeting cards can be a great introduction to needle felting. The only materials you need are:
  •  a small amount of roving (wool fiber, the wool before it is spun into yarn),
  • a felting needle (a needle that has tiny barbs on the end)
  •  a sponge to work on
  •  a blank card
  •  scissors and glue
While larger pictures can be produced, as well as 3D forms and sculptures, creating greeting cards take up little space, are not messy, and can be given and, of course curated, by family and friends!

Here are a few quick videos that I did to show you the basic process. If you want some real inspiration, I have a link below to a site featuring a wet felting and needle felting workshop with a group of women in the UK. They created larger pictures using the wet method first as a backing and then needle felting and stitching on top. Very inspiring!
